Safeguarding - Vetting and Barring Scheme

The Government have released two consultations on safeguarding as part of the roll-out of the vetting and barring scheme. The first of these considers whether employers should continue to use CRB disclosures alongside the vetting and barring scheme. The second considers whether the category of ‘controlled activity’ should be removed from the vetting and barring scheme. CCPR would welcome views from all members to inform its response to these consultations. These should be sent to Joy Tottman at jtottman@ccpr.org.uk before 16 June 2010.

For further information about the consultation please visit www.dcsf.gov.uk/consultations
